Elementary School
Academic and Applied Curriculum
Bridgeway’s Elementary Program is designed to support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs in a structured, nurturing environment. Our program blends individualized instruction with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to help students build academic skills, independence, and confidence.
Classrooms are intentionally structured to provide clear routines, predictable schedules, and a strong focus on skill development. Instruction is individualized to meet each student’s IEP goals and learning profile, while also fostering peer interaction, communication skills, and self-regulation. Our team utilizes data-driven decision making, ABA-based strategies, and proactive interventions to help students access learning in a meaningful way.
Academically, our curriculum aligns with Ohio’s Learning Standards to ensure students are progressing in core content areas including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Beginning in third grade, instruction may also align with Ohio’s Learning Standards–Extended for students whose IEP team determines that an alternate pathway is appropriate. This ensures that all students are working toward rigorous, standards-based goals that are tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
In addition to academic instruction, students build essential executive functioning, social skills, and adaptive living skills that promote independence and long-term success. We emphasize consistency, collaboration, and strong partnerships with families to ensure each child’s growth extends beyond the classroom.
At Bridgeway, we understand that every student’s path looks different. Our Elementary Program is built to meet students where they are, celebrate their progress, and equip them with the tools they need to succeed both academically and socially.
